Terms of Service
Effective date: 28 August 2026
1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to
aNewsReel is operated by Head Front Consulting Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the aNewsReel app ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. What aNewsReel is
aNewsReel presents news stories, summaries, catchups, and event timelines drawn from third-party sources, and may use automated tools (including AI) to summarise and present that content.
The App is free to use and is supported by advertising (see section 4).
The App is provided for general information and entertainment only. It is not professional, financial, legal, medical, or any other kind of advice.
3. Your account
You do not need an account to use the App. If you choose to create one (by providing a name and email address), you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. The account exists to back up your in-app preferences; it has no password, and you are responsible for the device it lives on.
You can delete your account at any time in the App ("Delete my data" in the Account tab). We may suspend or delete an account at any time if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, or if we discontinue the account feature. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of account data or synced preferences — the account is a convenience, not a guaranteed storage service. How we handle account information is described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Advertising
The App displays advertising served by third parties (including Google AdMob). We do not select, verify, or endorse the individual advertisers, products, services, or websites that appear in or are linked from ads, and we are not a party to any dealings between you and an advertiser.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility for the content of any ad, for any advertised product or service, or for any loss or damage arising from your interactions with an advertiser or with a site an ad links to. Those interactions are governed by the advertiser's own terms and privacy policy.
You must not click on, interact with, or generate impressions of ads fraudulently or through any automated means, and you must not interfere with, block, or manipulate the delivery or measurement of ads in the App. The presence, frequency, and type of ads may change at any time without notice.
5. Accuracy of content — no responsibility
News content in the App comes from third-party sources and automated summarisation. It may be incomplete, out of date, misleading, or simply wrong.
Neither we nor our third-party news suppliers warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any content shown in the App, or that the supply of content will be uninterrupted. We do not verify, endorse, or take any responsibility for any content shown in the App. You must not rely on it when making any decision. If something matters to you, verify it with the original source.
6. The App is provided "as is"
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. Your use of the App and its content is entirely at your own risk.
Neither we nor our third-party news suppliers promise that the App or its content will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that defects will be fixed. We may change, suspend, or withdraw the App (or any part of it, including the supply of any content) at any time without notice.
7. Security and data incidents
We take reasonable steps to keep the App and its services secure, but no system is completely secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised access, security breaches, data loss, viruses, or other harmful material transmitted through the App. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under applicable data protection law that cannot be excluded.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not misuse the App, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or its systems (including other users' account data), scrape or bulk-extract its content, engage in the ad fraud described in section 4, or interfere with its operation or with other users.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App (including any account) at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms.
9. Intellectual property
The App, its design, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors. News content belongs to its respective publishers and sources.
All content shown in the App is made available for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not redistribute, republish, reproduce, sell, license, or otherwise commercially exploit any content from the App, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of us and the relevant rights holder.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, in line with these terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the App, its content, its account feature, or the advertising shown in it — including any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit — however it arises.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the App, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to one pound sterling (£1.00).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. App Store and Google Play terms
These terms are an agreement between you and us only — not with Apple Inc. ("Apple") or Google LLC ("Google"). Apple and Google are not responsible for the App or its content, and have no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify the app store you got it from, and (where applicable) that store may refund any purchase price you paid for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple and Google have no other warranty obligation whatsoever for the App.
Apple and Google are not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, or claims that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a UK, US, or EU government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not listed on any government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Your use of the App must also comply with the applicable app store's terms of service (including any usage rules). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website, linked from the App, with its effective date shown at the top. By continuing to use the App after a change, you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except where the law of the country you live in gives you mandatory rights or jurisdiction that cannot be excluded.
